Im selling my 1986 Alfasud sprint, it has travelled around 80,000km, it has the 1.5L boxer engine and it has Tasmanian club registration. Given the work done to it (see below) I don’t think you would have much trouble registering it interstate.

I have had it for 10 years and in that time I have used it roughly 1 day a week on average. It is mechanically sound, cruises on the highway at 110 solid as a rock. During this time it has always been garaged.

When I bought it I replaced the timing belt, water pump, clutch, all the coolant system hoses, new brake lines and rebuilt the suspension. It has travelled roughly 3,000km since this work was done.

It had new tyres fitted around 6 months ago and they would have travelled roughly 750km.

In the last few weeks I have replaced the radiator with a brand new one as it was starting to leak, and while I had the radiator off I changed the timing belt, tensioners and cam cover seals as well.

The car is turn key and ready to enjoy. The chassis is very solid, no rust or anything like that as far as I can see. The interior is tired, I would say prior to my ownership it was parked up in the sun most of the time. The body appears to have had some work done to it at some stage, each front guard has a 50 cent sized piece of rust on it, and the rail tailgate is also showing signs of rust. The area where the body meets the tailgate has a taken a whack from something (see photo attached) but I don’t think it is from a vehicle collision, probably a reversing incident. I had planned to have the car resprayed, interior re-upholstered and the dash re-skinned in the next stage of improvements but I don’t have the room to keep the car any more.

Giorgetto Giugiaro design, even the cool kids love it! The car has a lot of character and generally really looks great, but it is not a concourse car. I have nothing to hide, you can look over the car for as long as you like, take it for a good drive, and I have a hoist for you to have a good luck at the underside of the car.

I have receipts for all the work I have had done on the car, and it has other receipts going back to 1999. I also have the user manuals but I don’t know if they originally came with the car.

I have 2 Haynes hardback workshop manuals, one brand new, the other used. I have a very minimal amount of spares, pretty sure I have new brake pads lying around somewhere for when they need doing.

I wish I could keep but I cant, it has a lot of potential as a fantastic base for a full restoration if that is what you are after.
