The Nota Major was the 29th car produced by the Nota factory in Sydney to the order of Mr. Barrie Garner whose intention was to win the prestigious NSW Hillclimb Championships and he succeeded by winning it in 1962. In addition he raced it between 1960 and 1962 at Bathurst, Warwick Farm and Catalina Park with some success.
It features a BMC B Series engine fitted with a HRG Derrington Cross Flow cylinder head (which incidentally was originally fitted to Barrie's Morris Major sedan, hence the name, Nota Major) Currently the motor is fitted with a steel billet crank, special con rods, forged pistons and a myriad of other special engine parts. The BMC gearbox has a special close ratio gearset fitted and it is fitted with a Quaiffe limited slip diff as well as many other tweaks to ensure it's reliability and performance and to make it the excellent handling car it is.
The car is well known in Historic circles as a well behaved car and is offered for sale with a very large quantity of spares and a comprehensive file of photos and notes plus results of the over 200 events in which it has competed with its 12 previous owners.
Naturally it comes with a MSA (CAMS) Certificate of Description and log book.
