Great little track/hillclimb car. Fitted with 1.8 turbo and AWD, sticks like glue. CAMS cage, surge tank and Bosch 044 pump setup in the boot. New windscreen to be fitted on sale for new owner, can assist with transport either in the state or interstate. Little use snce purchased 4 years ago. Sad to see it go, loss of job forces sale. I’ve owned this vehicle for over 20 years and selfishly not done anything with it , time for a full restoration and return to the track after a 50 year absence . Was built in 1966 as Chimaera Mk 3 with BMC B series engine and cigar shaped body and raced by Frank Brewster. Extremely quick Toyota 86 that has run in 1 Hour endurance racing in NZ. For reference of lap time approx 1 second per lap slower than Marc2 Mustang and Porsche 992 cup from running last season relative to an approx 1.30 laptime. Bob Fernley , Force India, owned the car and ran Jim Crawford(Ex F1) and Michael Roe in the 1984 CanAm championship, the RK 847 finished a credible 2nd in its inaugural year of competition. A major rebuild/restoration has been completed to bring this car back to the way it looked in the June 1984 Autosport track test article, notably with the high mounted single plane front wing which was the trademark of this Chris Murphy designed race car.
