The Holden Special Vehicles SV5000 was a proper V8 bruiser and was built in very limited numbers (359 in total) between 1989 and 1991. Based on the VN Commodore, the SV5000 started life in Holden’s Elizabeth plant in South Australia before being transferred to the boffins over at HSV, who were located in Notting Hill in Victoria at the time. This is a unique piece of V8 Supercar and Dick Johnson Racing history and has only had two owners after its time at DJR. Originally built as an AU model Ford Falcon V8 Supercar, this car (chassis DJR AU12) was converted to BA bodywork by DJR and became a part of the Bowden Collection of cars before being purchased by its current Queensland-based owner in 2014.
