The Holden Special Vehicles SV5000 was a proper V8 bruiser and was built in very limited numbers (359 in total) between 1989 and 1991. Based on the VN Commodore, the SV5000 started life in Holden’s Elizabeth plant in South Australia before being transferred to the boffins over at HSV, who were located in Notting Hill in Victoria at the time. This XBGT was entered and issued with a Cannonball Run number plate, 240. The race covered 3,755 kilometres stretching from Darwin, down the Stuart Highway all the way to Alice Springs. The 1994 Cannonball Run was a legal event run in the Northern Territory, Australia from 22 May to 27 May 1994. Being built in May of 1976 makes this car special also as it is one of only 13 cars finished in Outback Bronze with Walnut Glow accents. The saddle trim also presents nicely.
