The car was then sold to a race team Genoa racing in America. It was converted to a single seater Can-Am sports car. Competing in the1983 World Sports Racing Prototypes. Driven by Marzio Romano in the USA. Other drivers include Maurizo Flammini and Juan Manuel Fangio 111. The car was totally restored in 1998 with no expense spared including a new tub
