This car was last raced at Phillip Island in 2016. It qualified 2nd but spun in the wet and hit a guard rail in a side front impact that bent the chassis frame. A new frame was bought and most of the supports radiator elements and cowls were replaced. For sale is this Open Wheeled Formula styled Racecar as an unfinished restoration project. The car was designed and built in the early 1990’s? and has been sitting for many years. My father was restoring the car at the time he passed away in 2020 and we do not have any use for it. 1961 Elfin Zephyr Special. No.14 of the first 23 Elfin's ever made. Built by Noel Heard & Gary Cooper using a 2.6 L Zephyr 6 cylinder motor. Noel raced it in the 1961 Grand Prix. Won many hill climb championships, this is a great piece of Australian motor racing history. Noel completely rebuilt the car in 1998. The car has been used very little since. It is logged as a group M car with many photos & trophies. Sadly, Noel Heard is no longer with us but he was a wealth of information about the car
