TA2 race car Mustang Gen 6 1. ENGINE – 6.2L – 525hp ENGINE Ford, Chevy, and Dodge have had a rivalry as old as each brands name. The big three automakers in the US all have their own take on the engine for the Thunder class of cars. The Camaro engine was developed using the Chevy’s research from circle-track racing, they took their aggressive ASA camshaft and slipped it in to the LS3 6.2 L engine, and came out with their version of the 525 HP engine.
