It competed in the 1975 and the 1976 Southern Cross International Rallies. It was taken off the road and extensively refurbished and strengthened to undertake the gruelling 1977 London to Sydney Singapore Airlines Rally, the longest car rally ever held, covering 30,000 klms. 1961 Elfin Zephyr Special. No.14 of the first 23 Elfin's ever made. Built by Noel Heard & Gary Cooper using a 2.6 L Zephyr 6 cylinder motor. Noel raced it in the 1961 Grand Prix. Won many hill climb championships, this is a great piece of Australian motor racing history. Noel completely rebuilt the car in 1998. The car has been used very little since.
