It competed in the 1975 and the 1976 Southern Cross International Rallies. It was taken off the road and extensively refurbished and strengthened to undertake the gruelling 1977 London to Sydney Singapore Airlines Rally, the longest car rally ever held, covering 30,000 klms. 2000 GC8 WRX Rolling Shell, was being built for Tarmac Rally and has a CAMS certified cage. Does not extend to the front towers at this stage, although the strut tops have had cromoly plates added over them and the A pillar to chassis rails have extra bracing. Has sill jack points also. The cage has double diagonal bracing throughout and gussets everywhere. Seat mounts are welded in also. Was a clear title undamaged road car and has been kept indoors since it was pulled off the road in 2014/15.
Road registered club car, just completed. This car was my daily driver up till 2012 when it was put into storage. Interior has been semi stripped (parts kept), motor rebuilt, new clutch, MCA suspension, belts, almost standard just made better.
