Race cars have as much trouble staying on the road as they do getting down it quickly. This requires careful choice of suspension, brakes, tyres and wheels to keep the car stable through all the situations it is designed for.
One important factor in choosing the right suspension components is the weight of the vehicle. Heavier vehicles need stiffer springs and shocks to keep them from bottoming out or bouncing excessively. Lighter vehicles can get away with softer springs and shocks, which will provide a smoother ride and improved grip but may sacrifice some stability.
The right choice of tyres and wheels is also important. Wider tyres provide more grip but may make the car harder to control. Narrower tyres may allow the car to slip and slide around, but will make it quicker in a straight line. The right balance must be found for the conditions the car will be driven in.
Brake choice is also important. Disc brakes provide are generally superior to drums and come in a wide variety of styles and sizes. The right choice of brake will ensure the car can be brought to a stop quickly and safely in all conditions.
For many enthusiasts the budget is the biggest factor in choosing suspension, brakes and tyres. But it is important to remember that compromising on quality can lead to disaster on the track. It is better to spend a little more and get the right components than to save a few pounds and end up with a car that is difficult to control, or requires repairs more frequently.

Set of 4 Performance wheels, 13 by 7 inch, 95mm back space. Wheels are deep dish that are now hard to come by. The wheels have some minor scuffing on the front that could be easily polished out. Three of the wheels have Toyo Proxess R888 tyres mounted 205/60/13. Tyres are in excellent condition and have done very little work. Unfortunately the fourth tyre in the set was damaged.
