It was originally ordered with a 351 T code engine (identical to the Falcon GT), FMX automatic transmission and a 9” diff. This XBGT was entered and issued with a Cannonball Run number plate, 240. The race covered 3,755 kilometres stretching from Darwin, down the Stuart Highway all the way to Alice Springs.
