The AMC Javelin is an American front-engine, rear-wheel-drive, two-door hardtop automobile manufactured by American Motors Corporation (AMC) across two generations, 1968 through 1970 and 1971 through 1974 model years. The 1972 model year Javelins featured a new “egg crate” front grille design with a similar pattern repeated on the chrome overlay over the full-width taillights. The AMX version continued with the flush grille. A total of 15 exterior colours were offered with optional side stripes.

Owned since 2016 and rebuilt using genuine parts mostly from Zcar Depot in America or the best aftermarket parts available. This car was a rough club level race car when I bought it but is now a very nice road car. I have done all mechanical work. I’ve owned this vehicle for over 20 years and selfishly not done anything with it , time for a full restoration and return to the track after a 50 year absence . Was built in 1966 as Chimaera Mk 3 with BMC B series engine and cigar shaped body and raced by Frank Brewster. Peter Turner bought it in 1967 , renamed it Grantinni and upgraded to a larger capacity B series engine and raced at Templestowe , Calder , Hume Weir and Winton before rebuilding the car in 1969 with new rear bodywork and a Ho
